Apple is tipped to be readying its next iPhone lineup. The iPhone 13 series could go official as early as next month. Ahead of the announcement, several features of the upcoming smartphones have been detailed by the leaks and rumours. The latest one details the enhanced video capabilities of 2021 iPhones.

According to a report from Bloomberg, the iPhone 13 lineup will have a video portrait mode that will allow users to blur the background of the footage. The company is also said to introduce the ability to record video in a higher-quality format called ProRes. Moreover, 2021 iPhones could include a new filter-like system that improves the look and colours of photos. It is said that the camera features will be a major selling point for the iPhone 13 series.

To recall, Apple introduced its Portrait mode feature with the iPhone 7 Plus in 2016. It quickly garnered users' support. As a result, now we see even budget phones offering the portrait mode feature for photos. However, applying the same blur in videos is a tedious task. Apple is tipped to be introducing this feature, which is internally dubbed as Cinematic Video.

For the unaware, portrait mode allows you to put a person in sharp focus while blurring the background. In other terms, it adds a bokeh effect. However, adding bokeh to videos is not something we haven't already seen. Oppo's latest Reno 6 series offers this feature.

The iPhone 13 series is tipped to introduce a new ProRes video-recording feature that will let users capture clips in a higher-quality format. Hence, giving editors more control during post-production. Additionally, you could better control the look of colours and highlights in your pictures. The feature will differ from standard filters.

Aside from the camera enhancements, the report goes on to say that the iPhone 13 lineup will be a modest upgrade. Apple already revamped the design of iPhones with its iPhone 12 lineup. Hence, we do not expect a major design overhaul.

The Cupertino company is tipped to retain the same 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch regular sizes and 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Pro screen dimensions. Further, you could get a faster A15 chip and a smaller notch. Apple could also introduce a faster refresh rate for smoother scrolling.
