iQOO 9 SE – is that happening? Based on a recent leak, it is now said that the iQOO 9 series will have three models instead of the advertised two models so far. The iQOO 9 SE will join the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro once the series launches later in the year. The SE model, unlike expectations, won't be running on a midrange chipset; instead it is going to rely on last year's Snapdragon 888 chipset. Expected pricing details have also been shared.

Revealed by the YouTube channel Technical Guruji, the iQOO 9 SE will expand the flagship iQOO 9 series this year towards the more affordable end of the price range. Gaurav also reveals details on the price and internal specifications of this mystery iQOO 9 model. Sadly, there's no tip on when India can expect to see these phones on the shelves.

iQOO 9 SE is the new addition

First of all, let's talk about the pricing. It is said that the iQOO 9 SE could have a starting price of Rs. 35,000 in India. This means it could replace the ageing the iQOO 7 that is still its most popular model in the lineup. This also hints at the iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro going up the price ladder this year.

And similar to the iQOO 7, it has all 2021 high-end specifications. The biggest head turner is the presence of the Snapdragon 888 chip, which will technically be the least capable chip in the iQOO 9 series. It is said that the iQOO 9 will have slightly tweaked Snapdragon 888+ whereas the iQOO 9 Pro will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. All three phones are said to be based on Android 12 and will have FunTouch OS 12 skin on top.

All the three models will also have a 120Hz AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner. However, it is the iQOO 9 SE that will have the 6.6-inch display, while the iQOO 9 will have a smaller 6.5-inch display with a 10-bit panel. The iQOO 9 Pro will have a Quad HD+ 6.7-inch curved edge display.

Details on the iQOO 9 SE's cameras is not available. The iQOO 9, however, is said to have a 48MP main rear camera assisted by Vivo's gimbal stabilisation system. The iQOO 9 Pro will have a 50MP Samsung GN5 main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP zoom camera.
