Micromax IN Note 2 could ANNOY Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra fans
The Micromax IN Note 2 is launching on January 25 and it has a design reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra.
Micromax has just taken off the wraps from its IN Note 2, the successor to the more hyper IN Note 1 from 2021. And already, there's something that could annoy fans of the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra but excite those who cannot afford it. The IN Note 2 will be unveiled on January 25 as the company's first offering in 2022. Micromax has revealed the design and a few other features already, the former being controversial.
The teaser video shows the IN Note 2 going for a bold iPhone-inspired design but in the process copies largely the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Just look at the mega camera hump on the rear – the hump wraps the corner in the same fashion as the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. This hump holds a quad camera setup.
Micromax IN Note 2 specs revealed
Micromax says the IN Note 2 comes with a glass rear panel and a power-key embedded fingerprint sensor. It will come in a new brown colour along with a glossy black colour variant. The phone also gets a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Micromax also reveals some of the specifications of the IN Note 2 on its Flipkart promotional page. The biggest headline grabbing feature is the large 6.43-inch AMOLED display, which is a big upgrade from the IPS LCD display from the IN Note 1. Micromax isn't upgrading to 5G power yet for the IN Note series and hence, the phone will rely on the MediaTek Helio G95 chipset.
The phone's battery capacity hasn't been revealed yet but Micromax is flaunting a 30W fast wired charging system for the IN Note 2. Micromax says that the battery charges to 50 percent from zero in 25 minutes. The teasers also reveal a 48MP main camera sensor.
All that remains to be seen is how Micromax prices the IN Note 2 in India. This year, we have seen a couple of affordable sub- ₹15,000 smartphones from Motorola and Infinix taking the world by storm. Based on the teased specifications, the IN Note 2 could take the fight to the recently launched Realme 9i, Motorola Moto G31, and Infinix Note 11.
