Motorola E40 launched globally, India launch confirmed too

Lenovo-owned Motorola recently launched the Motorola E40 smartphone globally, a budget smartphone that is set to arrive in India on October 12. The 4G-enabled smartphone is expected to come with an HD+ resolution LCD screen and an octa-core processor powered by a 5,000mAh battery, running Android 11 out of the box. Moto E40 price is currently unknown, but more details should become available as the launch date approaches.

Earlier last week, the company confirmed on Twitter that the Moto E40 smartphone would come to India on Tuesday, October 12. The phone is expected to arrive in two colour options – Pink Clay and Carbon Gray and is said to come with IP52 rating. Customers will be able to purchase the device on Flipkart, while it is currently not known whether customers will be able to buy the device from offline channels or other online retailers.

The Moto E40 sports the 1.8GHz Unisoc T700 octa-core processor and will come with 4GB of memory and 64GB internal storage according to the Flipkart page for the device. The internal storage can reportedly be expanded to 1 TB. Powering the phone is a 5,000mAh battery, and the software running on the device is Android 11, under the My UX skin. The device is expected to come with a 3.5mm headphone jack, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a dedicated Google Assistant that can be spotted on the company's Moto G30 smartphone.

On the camera front, the Moto E40 smartphone is expected to come with a triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera sensor which is located above a macro camera which is above a depth sensor. The camera will also feature Motorola's Quad Pixel technology. The device is likely to sport a selfie shooter on the front of the device, located in the punch hole of the display which could also support Motorola's proprietary face unlocking software feature.
