Motorola Edge S pre-order goes live ahead of launch

Motorola Edge S will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 870 processor.

Motorola announced it will launch the Edge S smartphone on January 26. Ahead of its launch, the smartphone has gone up for reservations in China.

Motorola Edge S has been listed on JD.com for interested consumers to pre-book it. There's no image of the smartphone but Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G chipset highlighted in the teasers. It's Qualcomm's latest chipset and Motorola Edge S will be the first smartphone to launch with the processor. The smartphone's launch is scheduled to take place on January 26 at 7:30 pm CST which is 5:00 pm IST for Indian viewers.

In addition to the Snapdragon 870 processor, Motorola Edge S is expected to feature a 6.7-inch full HD+ display with supposedly a 105Hz refresh rate. The smartphone will possibly offer up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Motorola Edge S is also rumoured to pack a 5,000mAh battery.

Leaked images of what's believed to be the Motorola Edge S reveal a light purple ‘Sky' colour for the smartphone. It features a quad-camera setup at the rear out of which one will be a 64-megapixel primary sensor with zoom. The smartphone will also feature dual selfie cameras which could include a 16-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor. Motorola Edge S also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

This smartphone was previously rumoured to be Motorola Nio but it's reportedly the Motorola Edge S. It is said to come in another ‘Beryl' colour option. The launch date is only a few days away so we'll soon come to know the official details of the Motorola Edge S.
