Motorola is best known for making affordable devices with clean software on board, but the company has also released a few powerful devices in the past like the Motorola Edge Plus. Last month, the company released the Motorola Edge S - the first Snapdragon 870 powered device, and now another device bearing the same powerful chipset has appeared on a benchmarking website.

According to a new benchmark entry on Geekbench's database, a new entry listing an octa-core processor with a base frequency of 1.8 Ghz and 8GB RAM, showed up on Sunday as spotted by a tipster on Twitter. Previous rumours had suggested that Motorola was planning on releasing the devices under the Moto G brand, and the benchmark entry now seems to support that theory.

What is interesting is that the Geekbench entry lists the new device model as the Moto g(100) but lists the motherboard as Nio, which was the same codename for the company's recently launched Motorola Edge S. The device's scores and the listing also revealed that the device sports the Adreno G50 graphics and a maximum CPU speed of 3.19GHz, which leaves very little doubt that the device in question will run the Snapdragon 870.

If the Moto g(100) really does have the same specifications as the Motorola Edge S, it should sport a 6.7 inch, 21:9 tall IPS LCD display running at 90Hz, along with the Snapdragon 870 and 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage with UFS 3.1 for faster performance. It should also have a 64MP camera primary sensor coupled with a 16MP ultrawide sensor, on the front, a 16MP selfie shooter along with a second ultrawide lens.
