Upcoming phones launch in January 2022
Realme 9i
The Realme 9i has already launched in global markets and we expect the phone to arrive in India unchanged. That means we could see the phone coming with the Snapdragon 680 chip, 6.6-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD display, a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging, and Realme UI 2 based on Android 11. You get a 50MP main + 2MP macro + 2MP B/W sensor, and a 16MP front camera on this one.
Considering that this is a “i” series device, you can expect it to cost the same as the Moto G31 and Infinix Note 11.
Realme GT Neo 2 Dragon Ball Z Edition
The Realme GT Neo 2 isn't new anymore but Realme has been actively teasing bringing the Dragon Ball Z special edition version to India. The specs are likely to stay unchanged but the rear will wear a tasty Dragon Ball Z-inspired paintjob. Users can also expect a special theme to celebrate this Anime cartoon series.
Xiaomi 11T Pro
The Xiaomi 11T Pro is coming very late to India but could replace the ageing Mi 11X Pro. Armed with a Snapdragon 888 chip, this could give the Realme GT a run for its money, especially with a 108MP main camera and Xiaomi's brilliant 5MP macro camera. The headlining feature on this one though is the 120W fast wired charging.
No hints on the price yet but Xiaomi could bring the starting price down to ₹35,000 in anticipation of the Realme GT 2 series and the iQOO 9.
iQOO 9 series
iQOO is yet to announce a launch date for the iQOO 9 series but the “coming soon” tag hints at a launch in the next few weeks. The iQOO 9 Pro will be the high-end flagship model with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 whereas the iQOO 9 is likely to rely on the Snapdragon 888 chip. Both phones are expected to retain the aggressive pricing the iQOO 7 series introduced last year.
