Earlier this year we saw Samsung making it big in the smartphone market with the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108-megapixel rear camera sensor. Now, it looks like Vivo is ready to make some heads turn with its X50 Pro smartphone. The device that has been teased on Weibo for its 18th June launch in China, might bring a drastic change in the rear camera's stabilisation technology.

From the teaser, one can see that there's a periscope telephoto camera in the setup along with two regular-looking camera lenses and a much larger lens, which is supposed to be the primary camera. What's unique here is that the lens apparently rotates, indicating a major improvement in image stabilisation. The second teaser also reveals the camera's ability to take images in low light situations.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

For now, it is not for sure what sensor is being used in the X50 Pro. Some reports speculate it to feature the same camera as the Vivo Apex 2020, which was supposed to be showcased at MWC 2020 in Barcelona. It also featured a gimbal like stabilisation feature on a 48-megapixel camera.

However, some are assuming it to feature Samsung's recently introduced 50-megapixel ISOCELL GN1 that has a large 1/1.3-inch size sensor. This also makes it larger than what is found in the Galaxy S20 Ultra's 108-megapixel sensor. This, in addition to Vivo's gimbal stabilisation tech might bring drastically improved stable images and videos shooting abilities alongside some impressive low light photography techniques.

Other than the camera details, nothing is out yet. However, since the X30 was powered by Samsung's Exynos 980 processor, this one might feature the flagship 990 SoC. it might also be powered by the Snapdragon 865, who knows.
