Will the iPhone 14 have USB C port? Ever since the leaks and rumours regarding the iPhone 14 have started intensifying, we have been getting this question a lot in our mailbox. Apple remains tight lipped about anything on the iPhone 14 until September and the simple answer is to wait for the official revelation on Apple's YouTube channels. The iPhone 14 series has been said to bring some of the biggest upgrades to the lineup in a long time. In fact, there is a brand new iPhone 14 variant coming this year to replace the iPhone 13 Mini, called the iPhone 14 Plus with a 6.7-inch display, just like the iPhone 13 Pro Max. Based on the leaks and rumours, the iPhone 14 will not get the USB C port this year. Apple is likely to retain the Lightning port for another year with the iPhone 14 series. It is, however, the iPhone 15 series that might bring the mighty USB-C port to the world of iPhones. The USB-C port promises faster data transfer speeds and greater compatibility with chargers, thereby reducing e-waste.

Hence, if you were planning to buy the iPhone 14 series for the USB-C port, we recommend you should hold on to your iPhone 13, or iPhone 12, iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone XR, or even the iPhone 8. That said, Apple likes surprising its audience and there could be a possibility to see the USB-C port coming to the iPhone 14.

iPhone 14 expected prices

A great deal of debate has come up on the iPhone 14 prices. Rumours suggest that the iPhone 14 could start at $749 this year, while the iPhone 14 Plus could have starting prices around $899. The iPhone 14 Pro could start at a price of $1,099 whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max could have a starting price of $1,199.

Apple already uses USB-C port on several of its iPad models. The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro M1 models use USB-C ports and so does the iPad Air M1 5th Gen and the latest iPad Mini. Only the base iPad uses the Lightning port but Apple might upgrade it to USB-C later this year.
