The next time you're looking up the timings of a concert or booking a table at your favourite restaurant from an app, you might spot an Uber button. Tapping it will take you directly to the Uber app with your pickup location, destination and other details already filled in

Uber announced the feature in a post on its official developer blog. Third-party app developers can integrate the Ride Request button into their apps with a few small lines of code.

If the app strikes a deal with Uber, you may even get a discount on your ride.

App developers who put the Uber button in their apps will get $5 for each new user who takes their first Uber ride in this way, but Uber hasn't said if these incentives will come to developers outside the US. Instead, Uber's developer guide focuses on the hassle-free taxi-hailing experience that this button adds to third-party apps.

The feature has already been available in the Google Maps and Zomato apps since April, but is likely to be more widespread now that third-parties can integrate it more easily.

Ola, Uber's biggest rival in India, allows developers to similarly integrate Ola services into their apps, which travel portal MakeMyTrip and chat-based personal assistant Helpchat already use in their apps.
