Amazon to add colour to Kindle e-readers
After the success of Kindle Fire, Amazon is planning to launch a colour Kindle eBook reader in the second half of this year. The new e-reader would feature 'multi-touch' touch panels.
After the success of Kindle Fire, Amazon is planning to launch a colour Kindle eBook reader in the second half of this year.
Quoting industry sources, Digitimes reports, 'Amazon is likely to launch color e-book readers in the second half of 2012, with makers in the supply chain to begin shipping related parts and components in May.'
The reports also adds that Amazon's new color e-book readers will be 'built with multi-touch capacitive touch panels instead of infrared touch panels used in the previous mono-color e-book readers.'
As of now, Amazon offers five Kindle models: the baseline Kindle, Kindle Touch, Kindle Keyboard 3G , Kindle DX, and colourful Kindle Fire.
