Tim Cook-led Apple on Thursday launched its next generation of MacBooks along with a new TV app for iPhone, Apple TV and iPad along with a new version of the Final Cut Pro on the 25th anniversary of Apple notebooks.

The highlight of the MacBook announcement was the MacBook Pro that comes with an all new Touch Bar and a new Touch ID for Apple Pay and unlock features.

Tim Cook, who was clad in his usual classic blue denims before announcing the new MacBook Pro, said that it was on October 25, 1991 that Apple had launched its first notebook.

Phil Schiller then took over from Tim to come to stage to introduce the new MacBook Pro. "It has a whole new design. The new MacBook Pro features Apple's brightest and most colourful Retina display yet, the security and convenience of Touch ID, a more responsive keyboard, a larger Force Touch trackpad and an audio system with double the dynamic range. It's also the most powerful MacBook Pro ever, featuring sixth-generation quad-core and dual-core processors, up to 2.3 times the graphics performance over the previous generation, super-fast SSDs and up to four Thunderbolt 3 ports," Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said adding that it is 14.9 mm thin and 23% smaller in volume.

The Cupertino-headquartered company also introduced the new TV app, offering a unified experience for discovering and accessing TV shows and movies from multiple apps on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.

"Using apps on Apple TV, iPhone and iPad has become the primary way for so many of us to watch television," said Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. "The TV app shows you what to watch next and easily discover TV shows and movies from many apps in a single place."

Cook also showcased a new kind of interactive app on Apple TV and shared that currently Apple has over 8,000 apps and 2,000 games on the platform with Minecraft to hit the store soon. Ryan Troy from Twitter took the stage to explain the new kind of interactive apps. Troy showcased how sports watching can be fun with Twitter timeline which can show comments from sports stars, journalists' updates and video replays. It can also includes Periscopes.

Cook during the launches also mentioned that the iPhone 7 had seen a lot of traction among users along with the iOS 10. "Nearly 60% of our customer base has updated to the new OS," he said adding that the newly launched Apple Watch Series 2 has held in high regards by reviewers.
