Flipkart won't sell eBooks from December 11, but your previous purchases will remain intact. Mint reports that the three-year-old service aimed to sell ebooks on mobile devices but realised that sales of physical books far outsripped ebook sales.

For the customers who have bought their ebooks from Flipkart, any further services will be provided by e-reader company Kobo.

This decision from the Flipkart on the heels of an October report from market analyst Nielsen, which said that India is the second-largest market for English books in the world.
