Fortnite Season 5 update rolled out; full patch notes released
Here’s a look at what’s new in Epic Games’ Fortnite Season 5.
Epic Games has begun rolling out the update for Fortnite Season 5 on all platforms. The servers for Fortnite went down three hours ago as the update began. In the meanwhile, Epic Games has also released the full patch notes for Fortnite Season 5. Fortnite is available for Xbox, PC, PS4 and iOS platforms.
Fortnite Season 5 will feature 100 new levels and over 100 new rewards to win. Some of the new highlights in Season 5 are an all-new All Terrain Kart (AKT) for users and their entire squad. The new ATK will give a speed boost after drifting and the roof will double as a bounce pad.
Epic Games has also teased a new 'Rift' which looks like a transport loop to possibly a different location on the map. Fortnite Season 5 also gets a new set of Wild West Heroes which will be available during the 'Road Trip' event.
Fortnite Season 5 also gets 'Challenge the Horde' with improvements like a tighter experience, and less running from base to base between waves. This map also has a new 'Storm' behaviour which lets users fight back during a storm which will reset with every wave.
New weapons arriving on Fortnite Season 5 include a 'Walloper Hammer' designed to deliver a big punch with slow and wide swings. The 'Flintlock' weapon set has also been added and it will be available in 'Road Trip Llamas'.
Some of the new changes and updates coming to the gameplay and UI of Fortnite Season 5 are the ability of players to move while downed, and visuals adjustment of the downed state. Players who get banned will get to see a message while in-match. Also, the 'Rejoin' window will auto-close when a player is banned.
