Here’s how you can change iOS app icons without using Shortcuts
The Launch Center Pro app lets you change iOS app icons without having to use Shortcuts.
Apple's latest iOS 14 has given users a chance to customise their home screens with widgets and custom icons. While doing this the usual way involves using Apple Shortcuts to change icons, it adds an extra step to the process of opening apps. However, with Launch Centre Pro, you can change your iOS app icons without Shortcuts.
The Launch Centre Pro app offers multiple options to create home screen shortcuts to tasks like calls, messages etc, and it works just like the Apple Shortcuts app, 9to5Mac explained. The latest update on the app brings in a new feature that makes it super easy to change the appearance of the iOS home screen without having to use Shortcuts at all.
Usually, when you create a new Shortcut with a custom icon to open an app, iOS first opens the Shortcuts app and then redirects you to the chosen app. On the other hand, Launch Center Pro uses configuration profiles to add custom icons directly to the iOS home screen without using the Shortcuts app at all, thereby doing away with that one additional step making the whole process easier and more intuitive.
Launch Center Pro also has a new Icon Composer which has multiple options to create unique icons with different colours, shapes, badges and glyphs. You just need to create a new icon, set an app for that icon. Once you are done, the app generates a configuration profile with shortcuts to all the apps you have chosen, each with its own custom icon.
The Launch Center Pro opens up a whole bunch of options for you to make your home screen look unique without compromising with the usability of iOS since you are no longer redirected to another app.
Launch Center Pro is available for free on the App Store, however, the feature that enables custom icon shortcuts requires a subscription.
