Motorola's latest smartphones have received overwhelming response from consumers but the handset-maker has yet another surprise just as we hit 2016.

According to Amit Boni, general manager of Motorola India, the shatterproof screen technology will be in India by January as the company launches the Moto X Force.

"The Moto X Force will soon be introduced in India. It has the same Moto ShatterShield display technology. Also, the name "Droid Turbo 2" is exclusive to the US; the same phone will be introduced as the Moto X Force in India and other countries," Boni said in an interview with CNN-IBN.

The name of the technology is self explanatory and a phone whose screen can absorb most shocks without breaking will be more than welcome in India. A video from late October 2016 shows the drop test comparison between an iPhone, Galaxy device and Moto X Force with both the phone getting their screen shattered and the Moto X Force making it out without a scratch.

Boni also said that the Marshmallow updates for Moto G (3rd gen) and Moto X Play are set to hit devices within two months as India is the lead market.

Also, Motorola seems to have more goodies in store with their official Twitter handle (@MotorolaIndia) pushing tweets with references of TurboMode launch.

According to a tweet, the launch of Moto G Turbo edition is just three days away.

The Moto G Turbo Edition, an improvement on the Moto G (3rd Gen), was and was launched in Mexico in November. While the new smartphone retains the 2,470mAh battery, it now comes with Motorola's Turbo quick charge support. It also now boasts IP67 certification that makes the device resistant to water and dust.

The new phone features a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and is powered by a Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM.

It also features 16GB internal storage, microSD card slot, 13-megapixel rear camera and five-megapixel wide-angle selfie camera. Other connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
