Film-maker John Davis is all set to adapt famous video game The Sims into a big screen film.

According to reports, the movie will be a live-action version of The Sims, which is considered to be the best-selling PC game in history, with its world-wide sales touching the 85 million mark, earning over $1.6 billion.

Steve Asbell, the Vice-President of Production at Twentieth Century Fox, is looking after the project with the support of SIMS Studio, whose head Rod Humble is managing the creative property for Electronic Arts.

Brian Lynch has been assigned to write the script for the movie, although the information about the story-line and casting is yet under wraps.

''The Sims has done an interactive version of an old story, which is what it's like to have infinite power and how do you deal with it,' Moviehole quoted Humble as telling Variety magazine.

'Given that that's an old story, you can imagine how easily that would translate to traditional story telling,' he added.
