OnePlus 6 becomes fastest selling OnePlus phone; new schemes for Indian users launched

OnePlus launched a 12-day “community celebration season” from June 15 in India to offer cashback offers, no cost EMI options, discounts on exchange, and more.

OnePlus on Friday announced that its latest flagship OnePlus 6 had gone past one million sales globally. The company has also announced a 12-day "community celebration season" from June 15 to offer cashback offers, no cost EMI options, discounts on exchange, and more.

OnePlus 6: Fastest selling phone for OnePlus

OnePlus points out that it crossed one million global sales milestone within 22 days of its launch. OnePlus 6 which went on sale in India last month had set a new record by registering ₹100 crore within first 10 minutes of its preview sale on Amazon India.

"As always, our community has surpassed our expectations and we have them to thank for the overwhelming success of the OnePlus 6. We are touched by the trust that 1 million people have placed in us and are grateful for the loyalty they have displayed," said Pete Lau, Founder and CEO, OnePlus in a press note.

OnePlus highlighted its unique product strategy for growth in different markets including India and Europe.

"OnePlus' 'one flagship a year' strategy has allowed the company to create superior products with premium user-experience. Long-term partnerships with the likes of Amazon and Qualcomm, along with partnerships with carrier networks like Elisa and O2 in Europe have further helped bolster the company's presence across 36 countries around the world," said the company.

"OnePlus has taken a non-traditional approach to grow its business in countries like India, USA and Europe, through its community-first approach," it added.

OnePlus 6: Community celebration season deals in India

OnePlus' community celebration season will be held between June 15 and June 26. The offers include ₹2,000 cashback on Citibank Credit & Debit cards and no-cost EMI on all popular banks for three months.

OnePlus customers will receive extra ₹1,500 off on exchange; while on the exchange of any other device, customers will receive additional ₹1,000. The OnePlus referral programme on Amazon.in will allow customers to receive an extended warranty of 3 months by referring a friend.
