OnePlus 6T: Leaked retail box reveals improved design, waterdrop notch

A new leak claimed to be the retail box of OnePlus 6T reveals the new flagship phone will come with much smaller notch on the front.

OnePlus is expected to unveil an upgraded version of its OnePlus 6 phone in October. Dubbed as OnePlus 6T, the new smartphone is expected to look a lot similar to Oppo's R17 Pro smartphone. A new OnePlus 6T leak also hints at the same.

A leaked retail box (via SlashLeaks), believed to be of OnePlus 6T, reveals the design sketches of the new smartphone. The retail box looks convincing enough to be OnePlus' with a familiar packaging. Inside the retail box, there's an outline of the smartphone which shows the waterdrop notch on top. There's a thin bezel down below. The volume key is placed on the left side, while the alert slider and power button rest on the opposite end.

The leak also shows what looks like an in-display fingerprint sensor with the text "Unlock the speed". This also appears to be another inspiration from Oppo R17 Pro which features an in-display fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus 6T's design is anyway expected to be a big upgrade over the OnePlus 6. The camera department is also expected to receive an upgrade with a triple-camera setup. The placement of the three cameras are also said to be vertically aligned as seen on the Oppo R17 Pro. Oppo R17 Pro has a 12-megapixel, 20-megapixel and a TOF 3D stereo camera setup.

OnePlus could also improve the battery life of OnePlus 6T. Rest of the specifications will most likely remain the same.

OnePlus 6 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 processor paired with 6GB and 8GB of RAM. OnePlus 6 offers storage options up to 256GB. The smartphone comes with a full HD+ 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

There's a dual-camera setup with Sony IMX sensors at the rear. On the software front, it runs OxygenOS based on Android 8.1 Oreo. The smartphone is also in line to receive stable Android 9 Pie OS with the beta version currently available for download.
