Originally set to launch alongside the PlayStation 4, tentpole motorsport title 'Driveclub' has now received starter's orders for an early October release.
A new trailer accompanied the news, reminding viewers that 'Driveclub' is driven by faithfully recreated vehicles, stunning vistas, and social competition layered in at every turn.
'What 'Driveclub' offers has not been previously achieved in this category and because of this, the team needed more time to give you the game you're waiting for,' explained Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida in a post to the PlayStation blog.
Previous titles from Evolution Studios included 'MotorStorm' and 'Motorstorm: Pacific Rift' for the PlayStation 3.
Crossover title 'MotorStorm: RC' for the PS3 and Vita took the race action of previous titles and spliced it with a zoomed-out, top-down view and a cleverly implemented online leaderboard mechanic that was known for generating fierce competition among friends.
'Driveclub' releases on PlayStation 4 from October 7 in North America, October 8 in European and PAL regions, and October 10 in the UK.
