The brand specializing in products for gamers has introduced the Leviathan, a compact 5.1 channel surround sound bar with Dolby technology. Designed for use with video games but suitable for films and music, the system will be available from November for $199.
The Razer Leviathan includes four sound drivers (two 2.5-inch full range drivers and two 0.74-inch tweeters) with a combined 30W output and a separate subwoofer with an additional 30W.
Designed primarily for use with PCs and consoles, the Leviathan features Dolby Digital technology, which converts audio from a sound card, console or set-top box into virtual surround signals for an immersive experience. But the system isn't just for gaming: Razer has added three pre-set modes optimized for video games, films or music.
Equipped with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and the aptX technology, the sound bar can receive wireless signals from devices in a 10-meter range and deliver the same audio quality as over a wired connection. The Leviathan also has built-in NFC, allowing it to quickly connect to other devices with the same technology.
