The company is hosting a special event in New York on June 12 where it is expected to take the wraps off yet another new range of Android slates.

The company is hosting a special event in New York on June 12 where it is expected to take the wraps off yet another new range of Android slates.

It may feel as if Samsung launches something every week. In fact, it's only been a month since it debuted a new Tab4 range of tablets that offer a great balance of specs and affordability.

So is there any reason why anyone should get excited about even more slates? Well, if you're looking for a new tablet, don't want an iPad Air but wish there was something as good as it offered on Android, then the answer is 'yes'.

The New York event is billed as a 'Galaxy Premier' event and the products expected to be on show are Galaxy Tab S tablets which, if the rumor mill's to be believed, will be the first slates to offer AMOLED displays and could even get fingerprint sensor integration.

They're also expected to be super-slim and come in two sizes -- 8.4-inch and 10.5-inch and there's an outside chance that an even bigger 13-inch plus model could be revealed too.

However, we won't know for certain until the event gets underway.

Before the June event, Samsung will also be taking to the stage in San Francisco on May 28 to showcase new technology related to health and well-being.
