Snapchat have overtaken Twitter in terms of monthly usage. Twitter has less than 140 million users interacting with the service daily. Meanwhile, Snapchat has crossed 150 million, according to a report by TNW.

While Snapchat is all about video, Twitter is mainly used share links, opinions and everything else in general. Twitter however, is still improving. But comparing Snapchat to the decade-old Twitter would be unfair.

"Somewhere along the way, when we were building social media products, we forgot the reason we like to communicate with our friends is because it's fun," said Even Spiegel, Snapchat CEO.

The entertainment factor that Snapchat has managed to make it work for millennials that propelled the speed at which users flock to the platform.
