The Finnish game-maker Rovio gave a pleasant surprise to all fans of its flagship product, Angry Birds, by coinciding the announcement of a new update to the game with the landing of the Curiosity Mars rover on Monday.

Minutes after the American space agency, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (Nasa), confirmed the safe landing of the rover, Rovio uploaded a 30-second video on its website announcing a 'Red Planet update' to the game.

This update has come only a week after Rovio updated its last series, Angry Birds Space, by adding 20 new levels. The video, which was made in collaboration with Nasa, shows a shadow of a bird flying over what appears to be a patch of ice on red surface.

It went viral on the internet within minutes of its uploading. You can watch it here.
