Spotify rolls out support for 12 Indian languages in mobile app

The list includes Hindi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Bengali.

Spotify, as its Stream On fest last month, had announced that it would add support for 36 new languages to its platform soon. In line with this announcement, the music-streaming giant today announced that it is bringing support for 12 new Indian languages to its Spotify mobile app.

The list includes Hindi, Gujarati, Bhojpuri, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu, and Bengali.

In addition to the 12 new Indian languages, Spotify has rolled out support for 24 other languages in its mobile app. The list includes Afrikaans, Amharic, Azerbaijani, Bulgarian, Simplified Chinese, Croatian, Danish, Estonian, Filipino, Icelandic, Latvian, Lithuanian, Nepali, Norwegian, Persian, Portuguese for Portugal, Romanian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Swahili, Ukrainian, Western Punjabi and Zulu.

With this update, the total number of languages supported by the music-streaming platform stands at 62. Spotify in a blog post said that these new languages were already available on the web platform and starting today they will begin to roll out on the mobile app.
