Twitter launches new emoji to mark 25 years of DDLJ

The social media giant also announced that as a special surprise for fans on the completion of 25 years of the film’s release, YRF will be hosting a DDLJ watchparty on October 20 at 7PM IST on its platform.

“Ja Simran ja, je le apni zindagi.” Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (DDLJ) turned 25 today. On this occasion, Twitter India has released a new emoji that marks the Silver jubilee celebrations of this movie.

The newly released emoji looks like the giant bell that the actress Kajol purchases while on her trip to Switzerland with Shahrukh Khan. It has a giant golden coloured bell with a brown belt on top that is adorned with Re, Green and Yellow embellishments on the sides.

Twitter India in a statement said that the leading actors of from the movie which includes Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol sent out a Tweet using this DDLJ emoji, which can be activated by using the hashtags #DDLJ, #DDLJ25, #25YearsOfDDLJ and #DilwaleDulhaniaLeJayenge. The actors have also changed their names on their respective Twitter handles to Raj Malhotra and Simran to mark the movie's silver jubilee celebrations.

The social media giant also announced that as a special surprise for fans on the completion of 25 years of the film's release, YRF will be hosting a DDLJ watchparty on October 20 at 7PM IST #OnlyOnTwitter giving people a chance to relive their favourite love story, all over again.
