The information was provided by WABetaInfo in a report where it said, "WhatsApp is rolling out a new update for the Universal Windows Platform app, through the official beta channel on the Microsoft Store, bringing the version up to 2.2206.1.0. What's new in this update? WhatsApp is introducing emoji shortcuts!"
"In the previous beta build, WhatsApp has introduced the dark theme, one of the most anticipated features. In the new WhatsApp beta UWP 2.2206.1.0 update, WhatsApp is now releasing another useful feature: emoji shortcuts!," it further added.

Sharing a screenshot of the update, the report informed that when you type specific keywords prefixed with a colon in the message typing box then WhatsApp will show up all the emojis related to the keyword.
For example, if you type :Hello, you will get all the related emojis displayed on the screen. As per the information provided by WABetaInfo, "This feature is already available on WhatsApp Web/Desktop for a long time but was missing in the UWP version: after updating to the latest beta build from the Microsoft Store, you are now able to use this feature."
It can be noted that the changes are available to all beta testers that are using the latest version of WhatsApp beta UWP. There is no need for you to wait for the activation as the feature is already enabled for everyone. The only thing you need to do is to simply update WhatsApp beta.
