Consumer Internet of Things (IoT) firm Witworks on Friday announced the launch of its first smart wearable device Blink that runs on Witworks' own voice-based operating system called Marvin OS.

Available for pre-orders for a starting price of 12,999 from Friday, the device claims to provide a re-imagined interaction (UX/Input), designed specifically for a smaller 1.4-inch screen.

"As we move into a connected future and smart wearables, especially watches, there is lack of relevant use-cases, ease of interaction and genuine design-empathy. With a blend of technology and design, we are looking to solve that and make smart-wearables ubiquitous," said Somnath Meher, Co-Founder and CEO of Witworks, in a statement.

Its Android-based operating system Marvin OS has the capability to integrate various native and third party applications.

This allows Blink to run several stand-alone functions ranging from playing the music, tracking activity and user authentication without any dependency on the phone.

With an 8GB internal storage, Blink allows to store over 1000 songs which can be played using the watch's inbuilt speaker. It can also play songs by connecting to Bluetooth speaker or headset.

The device generates an offline 'time-based' OTP valid for 60 secs, allowing users to authenticate across varied services without any dependency on internet or cellular connectivity.

Blink has 1.2 Ghz processor, a 300 mAh battery and can run for up to two days in one charge.

The device comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage.

"Marvin, being a watch-first OS, has a completely reimagined interaction and features for a small 1.4 inch display screen," added Ankit DP, Co-Founder and CPO of Witworks.
