YouTube Music gets activity bar on homepage, new personalised playlists
YouTube Music has added seven new ‘My Mix’ playlists curated based on your listening preferences.
Google has been rolling out new features to YouTube Music as it completes the shutdown of Google Play Music. It is now introducing an activity bar for quicker access to curated playlists. It has also added seven new personalised playlists.
YouTube Music is getting a new activity bar on the Home tab. There are four featured activities on this bar for workout, focus, relax and commute. Tapping on any of the four activities will open a dedicated personalised homepage with curated playlists. There will be up to four new personalised playlists for each activity.
YouTube Music has also added seven new ‘My Mix' playlists. Each playlist will be curated based on your listening preferences. “Pick your vibe and hit ‘play' to hear hours of music that blend some of your favorite songs with new favorites, all tied together through a cohesive sonic theme,” Nathan Lasche, Product Manager, YouTube Music said in a blog post.
There's also a ‘My Supermix' playlist which was previously known as ‘Your Mix'. This playlist will feature tracks from all the other My Mix playlists into one. These playlists will be constantly updated with new tracks.
The new playlists and activity bar have started rolling out on YouTube Music. Google introduced these playlist Mixes back in July this year. It launched with playlists curated for chill, energy, focus and workout. These playlists auto update every Monday.
YouTube Music now has 30 million paid subscribers globally. It is now the sole music streaming service from Google as Play Music shut down last month.
