LG announces global rollout of its 2021 TV lineup

LG on Tuesday announced the global rollout of its 2021 TV lineup, which includes OLED, QNED Mini LED and NanoCell models. The new TVs range from 43-inches to 88-inches. According to LG, the new 2021 TV lineup comes with Dolby Vision IQ, Dolby Atmos, HDR10 Pro, and Filmmaker mode.

The new TV lineup also comes with “an advanced HDMI 2.1” feature, improved audio return channel, and automatic low latency mode.

“Featured in the majority of this year's TVs is LG's latest intelligent processor, α (Alpha) 9 Gen 4 AI.2 Integrating improved deep learning, the upgraded processor boosts upscaling performance to make the content of any quality look sharp and detailed on the new TVs' high-resolution screens. The α9 Gen 4 further optimizes visual output, making precise adjustments in accordance with the amount of light in each scene, the genre of content playing and ambient conditions in the viewing environment,” said LG in a press release.

For better visuals and audio, LG has also included AI Picture Pro and Sound Pro technologies. The smart TVs run on webOS 6.0, which is said to have been improved for quicker access to apps and better-personalised recommendations.

The LG 2021 OLED TVs features Z1, G1, C1, B1, and A1 variants. The G1 models come with LG's new OLED Evo technology, which is said to deliver better luminosity for higher brightness and more detailed images. The C1 series now features a compact 43-inch model and goes up to 83-inch.

LG's QNED Mini LED TVs aim to take on the traditional LCD TVs with Quantum Dot NanoCell technology and Mini LED backlighting. The lineup features an array of 8K (models QNED99, QNED95) and 4K (models QNED90, QNED85) and 4K variants.

The smart TVs will begin rolling out in the first quarter this year.

The company said its NanoCell 8K and 4K TV offerings now offer a wider range of choice of 8K (models NANO99, NANO 95) and 4K range (models NANO90, NANO85, NANO80, NANO77, NANO75) units. All the models in this lineup come with LG's NanoCell display. The technology is said to use nanoparticles to filter colour impurities and deliver better image quality.
