Netflix is launching redesigned profiles for kids and here’s the new look
Netflix is redesigning the UI for kids on the platform to make it more personalised and discovery-focused.
Netflix is launching a new refreshed profile for kids on the platform, one that's more personalised and discovery-focused than what currently exists. With the new redesign, the kids' profiles will now show users' favourite titles and characters as soon as they open the platform. Kids' favourite titles like Waffles, Moch, Over the Moon, etc, will now be featured right on top making it easier for kids to find shows they love.
With kids' favourite titles right on top, it makes it much easier for parents to quickly find something for their kids to watch right from the homepage and you no longer need to spend any time hunting for suitable titles.
Now, the new kids' homepage has been designed to fit each child and caters to their tastes. The design of the kids' billboard is character-driven and connects with kids based on the shows they have been watching and might want to watch. For shows to turn up on the billboard, kids have to have watched the show or the movie at least once for it to appear in the row. The new redesign is available on TVs globally now and will eventually be tested on tablets and mobile devices over the next few months.
"Every family is different and every child is different and we are always looking to improve the Netflix experience to reflect that. Today, we are literally "over the moon" to share our redesigned kids profile on TV, which makes it easier and more fun for kids to engage with their favorite characters, shows or movies,” explained Michelle Parsons, Product Manager for Kids & Family, Netflix, talking about this new UI design.
