Less than a week after Samsung released its Galaxy SmartThings application for Windows 10 computers on the Microsoft Store, the South Korean company has now dropped another useful tool in the form of a new Galaxy Buds app for the company's wearable audio devices.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy Buds manufacturer has launched the new and updated app on the Microsoft Store to allow users to manage their wearable earbuds, which should come in handy since the Windows 10 Bluetooth manager is simply too basic to handle truly wireless earbuds. For example, the Galaxy Buds app will be able to identify and report the battery levels of each earbud and the case, something the Windows 10 Bluetooth manager app cannot do.

Similarly, other features from the Galaxy Wearable app on Android and iOS devices such as managing equaliser settings, controlling the touch panel options and firmware download and updating for your Galaxy Buds without requiring a phone nearby. However, as the report notes, the app only supports the recently released Galaxy Buds Pro, while the Galaxy Buds Live and the Galaxy Buds Plus seem to be greyed out. If you own the original Galaxy Buds, it looks like you're out of luck as these are unlikely to be supported.

Another advantage of the Galaxy Buds app being released on the Microsoft Store is that the software will be compatible with Windows S devices, that limit the installation of apps to those available on the Windows Store. This is an improvement over the company's previous Galaxy Buds Manager app. The latter was available for download on the company's website before it was eventually discontinued, according to the report.
