Xiaomi launches Mi Band 5 in India, all you need to know

Xiaomi at its Smarter Living virtual event announced the launch of Mi Band 5 in India.

Mi Band 5 is priced at ₹2,499. It is going to be available on October 1 via mi.com, Amazon India and Mi Home. It will be soon available on other platforms.

Mi Band 5 features

Mi Band 5 comes with a bunch of health-focused features. It includes 11 work out modes such as outdoor running, power walking, cycling, indoor running, pool swimming, freestyle, indoor cycling, elliptical, jump rope, yoga, and rowing machine. It also supports automatic running or walking detection, pace alerts, completed kilometre alerts, high heart rate alerts.

Another highlight of the fitness band is heart rate and sleep monitoring with women's health tracking. Xiaomi says the Band 5 can gives recording and reminders for the menstrual cycle and ovulation phases. Sleep monitoring features include deep sleep, light sleep, rapid eye movement, and naps.

Other features of the fitness band include remote photo taking, find my phone, phone unlocking, responding to call notifications, and music playback. Users can also see WhatsApp notifications and app message alerts. Other supported notifications include a calendar reminder, timer, and so on.

Mi Band 5 specifications

Xiaomi's latest fitness band comes with a 1.1-inch AMOLED display with 126x294 pixels and 450 nits of brightness. The display also houses one-touch button for wake up and return. The screen has 2.5D reinforced glass and AF coating.

The fitness band comes with a 5ATM waterproof rating. It has a rotor motor. It features 512KB RAM and 16MB memory. It has 125mAh battery with magnetic charging support.

Mi Band 5 comes with a high precision 6-axis sensor, PPG heart rate sensor, and digital MEMS microphone. It is compatible with phones running Android 5.0 or iOS 10.0 and above.
