Xiaomi Mi Watch update brings Amazon Alexa support, and more
Xiaomi has started rolling out a new firmware update for the Mi Watch that brings new features, bug fixes, optimisations and more.
Xiaomi launched the Mi Watch last year in October. It is now rolling out a new firmware update that brings Amazon Alexa support, bug fixes, optimisations and more.
The new Mi Watch firmware update is v1.2.52 as posted by a user on Mi Community, Piunika Web reported. The Amazon Alexa virtual assistant support on Mi Watch is limited to select regions. It however, isn't specified which regions are eligible for the support. Mi Watch users upon installing the update will be able to figure out if newAmazon Alexa is available or not.
The latest Mi Watch update also comes with an experimental feature that lets users control their phone's camera shutter with the smartwatch. Xiaomi has also added two new standby watch faces with this update. When it comes to optimisations, this update should make the Mi Watch wake up faster. It has also added the option to turn on and off auto-pause in workout on the smartwatch. Some known bugs on the Mi Watch have also been fixed with this update.
Xiaomi Mi Watch is priced at 99 euros ( ₹8,500 approx). The smartwatch comes with a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a dedicated sports button on the side. The smartwatch comes with support for 117 exercise modes. It is also equipped with six different sensors as well as GPS.
In terms of battery life, Xiaomi claims the Mi Watch can go on for 16 days after two hours of charging. It packs a 420mAh battery. The smartwatch also has over 100 watch faces to choose from, native emojis on notifications and more. It also comes with 5ATM rating for water resistance.
