India wants the ban on PUBG Mobile to be lifted, that’s for certain. And over the last few weeks there has been plenty of speculation about the battle royale’s potential return now that game developers PUBG Corp has severed ties with Tencent as its publisher for the India chapter. It’s not surprising that something like this could get PUBG Mobile fans all excited about the game’s potential return, but it’s highly likely that the job could be for some other purpose entirely, like the PC version of PUBG.

Notably, the desktop version of the battle royale is still accessible in India, as is the console version - so it’s possible that PUBG Corp could be looking for someone in that department. However, we cannot blame PUBG Mobile fans for banking their hopes on pretty much anything.

The job description adds that the Senior Associate Manager role will be looking after overall mergers and acquisitions and investment strategy and also support the setup process of PUBG India with guidance from the HQ.

The description indicates that irrespective of when PUBG Mobile might get ‘unbanned’, for PUBG Corp, India is an important market. And given the constantly growing numbers of gamers hooked onto PUBG Mobile, it is obvious that the company would be keen on resolving the issues raised by the Indian government to get the game back in officially.

Banned in June this year, PUBG Mobile was a part of a huge list of 118 Chinese apps banned by the Indian government.
