Less than a week after game publisher Krafton announced the pre-registrations for its local PUBG replacement ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’, we now have more details about the game that is expected to launch in the future. According to a teaser shared by Krafton, the new game map contains a familiar map from the original game – Erangel.

The popular map from the original PUBG mobile version of the game, which features the water tower, is likely to make a return to the Indian version of the game, Battlegrounds Mobile India, based on the teaser on game developer Krafton’s Facebook page. However, it looks like the map will be called 'Erangle' in the Indian version of the game.

Readers might remember that Krafton has previously shared a teaser for another map on the new game, which closely resembles the Ban Tai dock from the original game. At the time, we had reported that it was likely to make a comeback in the upcoming Indian version of the game. However, we do not yet know if other popular maps will return to Battlegrounds Mobile India.

While Krafton is yet to make a formal announcement regarding the availability of maps and the feature parity with the original PUBG mobile game, it would appear that the relaunched Indian version of the game has been tweaked from the original version to comply with the government’s requirements after it was banned in the country last year.

As we’ve previously reported, the upcoming version of the game is set to feature the popular battle royale mode, along with specific content tailored to Indian audiences. However, gamers should also expect to be able to participate in events and other eSports tournaments.

Users who want to quickly try out the game can head over to the Play Store and pre-register for the game which should ensure rewards when the game launches – there’s no word on a release for iOS devices at this point, but stay tuned for more updates about one of the most awaited mobile game releases in the country this year.
