Step 1:On your Mac, choose Apple menu and head into System Preferences.
Step 2:Next, Click on General and select “Allow Handoff between this Mac and your iCloud devices.
Step 3:On your iPhone, open Settings and head over to General.
Step 4:Open AirPlay & Handoff, and then turn on Handoff.
Step 5:If you have an Apple Watch, go to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap General and turn on Enable Handoff.
How to know if Handoff works
When Handoff is enabled, you will be able to do all the above mentioned features on your Apple devices. Supported apps like Safari and Notes, for example, will show a small icon when it copies something from your iPhone.
