EPFO to credit interest on PF deposits soon! Know how to check PF balance online

Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) had slashed the annual rate of interest to 8.10% in fiscal year 2021-22. And the interest at 8.10% rate is likely to be credited on PF accumulations soon. EPFO announces the PF interest rate for the current fiscal every year. Earlier, the interest used to get credited into the subscribers’ account somewhere around Diwali or later due to delay in approval from the Finance Ministry. How to check PF balance?

PF subscribers can check their PF Balance via four different ways - SMS, online, call and UMANG App.

Check EPFO balance via SMS or call

EPFO members, whose UANs are registered EPFO, can get details of provident fund balance by sending an SMS to 7738299899 with the text “EPFOHO UAN ENG". If you want to get the details in Tamil, you can write ‘TAM’, ‘BEN’ for Bengali, ‘HIN’ for Hindi and so on. You can give a missed call to 011-22901406 from your registered mobile number to get the details.

Check EPFO balance via Umang App

Step 1: Install the Umang app on your mobile and open it.

Step 2: Next, click on the EPFO option and select “Employee Centric Services.”

Step 3: You will see a “View Passbook” option upon clicking which you will have to enter your UAN number and the One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number to view your EPF transactions, including withdrawals and deposits from your current and previous employment.
