The global rollout of iOS 16 has excited iPhone fans worldwide. The new operating system brings lock screen customization, new widgets, live text in videos and much more. It also brings an important feature that users have been asking for years — the battery meter. But if you are an iPhone 11 user, do not be happy just yet because this feature will not be available for you. Yes, it is time to be furious. Apple has released the list of iPhone models that will be compatible with this feature and shockingly, the iPhone 11 has been left out of the list. But does that mean that all hopes are gone? Not exactly. Read on to find out a workaround.

iPhone 11 to miss out on iOS 16 battery meter feature

The battery meter is not a new feature for iPhone devices. It used to be there in the older models. But after the arrival of the iPhone X, it was removed. After that users had to check the bar to know how much charge their smartphone had left. But fans never stopped asking for this feature back and it seems that finally Apple has figured out a way to bring it back.

With the iOS 16 update, the feature will be coming for the iPhone 14 series, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max; iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max; iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max; iPhone X, iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max; iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus; and iPhone SE 2nd and 3rd generation.

The iPhone 11, iPhone XR, have missed out on this feature, but what is even more galling is that iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 13 Mini too will not get it. Apple has not revealed why these were the only devices to not get the upgrade.

However, there is no need to be sad. Mad yes, sad no. Why? Because there is one thing users can do if they wish to see the battery percentage feature.

How to get the battery meter in iPhone 11

1. First, long tap on your iPhone display to open the widget page.

2. Tap on the battery section and select any battery widget.

3. Long press on the selected widget to bring it to the home screen.

4. Now, you have a larger battery widget that will tell you the battery percentage.

While it is not exactly the same as seeing the battery meter on the battery icon, it is a workaround that can let you use this important feature. Considering that the iPhone 11 is not an old phone, having to resort to such tricks to get a good feature is definitely upsetting.
