Apple MacBook users can use Wallet and Apple Pay on Mac. However, in order to use the Wallet or Apple Pay, your MacBook or Magic Keyboard need to have Touch ID. Informing about the same Apple support page said, "If your Mac or Magic Keyboard has Touch ID, you can use it to make payments on websites that support Apple Pay." It can be known that a Touch ID is a fingerprint recognition feature from Apple available on some Mac computers and some Magic Keyboard models. With Touch ID, you can unlock your Mac and some password-protected items, switch quickly between users, use Apple Pay to make purchases on the web, and purchase items from the iTunes Store, the App Store and Apple Books.

In order to set up Apple Pay on your Mac, you need to add at least one credit card, debit card, prepaid card, store card or Apple Card to Wallet. If you already have a debit or credit card associated with the iTunes Store or App Store, just verify your card’s security code to add the card to Wallet. Also Read: MacBook Air user? How to set up Apple Pay on MacBook

1. You need to choose Apple menu, go to system preferences, then click Wallet and Apple Pay .

2. Click Add Card.

3. Enter your payment information.

Use a card on file: If you have a credit or debit card on file with Apple for making purchases from the iTunes Store or App Store, enter the security code when asked.

Add a new card: Position your card in front of your computer’s camera so that it appears within the frame shown on the screen, then follow the onscreen instructions. Or click Enter Card Details Manually, then provide the requested information. Repeat for each card you want to use with Apple Pay.

How to make purchases using Apple Pay

Step 1:

When checking out from an online store, click Apple Pay. If you have more than one card on file with Apple, you can choose which card to use. You can also enter a new shipping address and contact information.

Step 2:

Place your finger on Touch ID to complete the purchase. If you have not set up Touch ID, you can tap the Pay button in the Touch Bar and enter your password. If your Mac doesn’t have a Touch Bar or you’re using a Mac with Apple silicon, you can double-tap Touch ID and enter your password.

Step 3:

If the lid on your Mac is closed, you can complete your purchase using Touch ID on your Magic Keyboard (available on some models), or on your iPhone or Apple Watch and a card associated with that device.

Step 4:

In order to view the transaction details on your Mac, choose Apple menu, go to System Preferences, then click Wallet and Apple Pay. Select a card, click Transactions, then select the tickbox beside “Show transaction notifications from”.
