Take iPhone calls on your iPad, MacBook: Here is how in easy steps

You can take your iPhone calls on your iPad and MacBook devices. There is an easy process to do it, here is how.

One of the nicest things with an iPhone is that you get to enjoy Apple’s superbly connected ecosystem. Hence, if you use an iPad, Mac and Apple Watch, you have a well-connected ecosystem of devices that talk to each other fluently. No other company has been able to match it as seamlessly as Apple, and hence, it is always good to know all the things you can do with an iPhone and other Apple devices. One of those things is to take calls from your iPhone on any of your Apple devices, just like magic.

The feature is called Continuity and it embodies of a lot of features that allows you do a particular function on your iPhone and carry it to your iPad or Mac. Taking calls is also one of the features to do so. Simply put, if you get a call on your iPhone, you can receive it via your iPad or Mac device. You can even receive that call on another iPhone in your house as well. Isn’t the feature very convenient?

In order to get it working, here is all you need to do on your iPhone.

How to take iPhone calls on iPad, Mac

Step 1:

Ensure that your iPhone, iPad or Mac are registered to the same Apple ID account. You also need to ensure they are connected on a Wi-Fi network.

Step 2:

To enable the feature on your iPhone, go to Settings > Phone > Calls on Other Devices, then turn on Allow Calls on Other Devices.

Step 3:

You have to do the same on your iPad. On your iPad or iPod touch, go to Settings > FaceTime, then turn on Calls from iPhone.

Step 4:

On your Mac, open the FaceTime app, then choose FaceTime > Preferences. Click Settings, then select Calls From iPhone.

Step 5:

Once enabled, you can take calls on your iPad or Max. On your Mac, a notification appears when someone calls your iPhone. You can answer the call, send it to voicemail, or send the caller a message.

Step 6:

On your iPad or iPod touch, slide to answer the call, just like you do on the iPhone. The iPad speakers will play the call since there is no earpiece. 

Step 7:

To make a call via your Mac, move the pointer over any phone number in Contacts, Calendar, Safari, or other app that automatically detects such data. Click the arrow in the box that outlines the phone number, then choose Call [phone number] Using iPhone. You can also use the FaceTime app to make the audio calls.

Step 8:

On your iPad to make a call, tap a phone number in Contacts, Calendar, Safari, or other app that automatically detects such data. Or open the FaceTime app, tap +, enter the phone number in the search field, then tap the phone icon for the voice call.
