The latest Windows 11 update is being rolled out to most Microsoft users' laptops and PCs. With the recent Windows 11 Build 22518, Microsoft has carried out a few changes such as Spotlight desktop wallpapers, voice access accessibility feature. In addition to these, the tech giant modified how you access the Windows 11 widgets. In the Windows 11 Weather Widget, you will see an icon on the taskbar, which will remind you of the Windows 10 News and Interests Widget. It keeps you updated with the current temperature and weather in your city.
No matter how informative the Windows 11 weather widget is and how interested you are in the updates, it may annoy you sometimes with the instant triggering to your screen. This may not be what most of users would like to see. As soon as you hover over the weather icon, even by accident, the widget page automatically gets triggered. However, the feature is only available to a few Windows 11 users at the moment, but it will be rolled out to more and more users. But if you are one of them and want to get rid of this feature and its annoyance, here's how you can disable the weather widget on Windows 11.
Step 1: To disable the widgets option in Windows 11, first you need to right click anywhere on the taskbar and head towards the 'Taskbar Settings'.
Step 2: The Taskbar Settings page will be opened on your screens, there disable the Widgets toggle bar while switching to the left to turn it off under ‘Taskbar items’ and then... Wait! It's done! In just two simple steps. You will no longer see the weather widget on the Windows 11 taskbar.
The functionality of Widgets in Windows 11 will not be entirely disabled with these procedures. The Widgets menu will open if you press Windows Key + W on the keyboard or will simply switch the toggle bar in Step 2 towards the right, but it will at least keep the button off from your taskbar. If you consider getting the Weather Widgets in Windows 11 again and find them helpful. For many others, however, they're just another needless addition to Windows' basic functionality.
