Since laptops and PCs have become an integral part of our life for professional as well as personal work, you ned to ensure it protects your privacy, but at the same tme it should not slow down either. Increased usage causes junk files to collect and slow down your computer. Hence, if you’re switching to a new laptop, make sure that you factory reset it. It will make your device new. It will wipe all personal information on the laptop, including logged in websites, photos, and other media files.

Resetting your laptop is very quick and easy to perform. Here's a handy guide to erase all the data from your laptop. But do remember that before you begin the process, you must ensure that you have online (cloud) and offline backups of all the data on your device.

How to factory reset your Windows 11 laptop

Step 1:

Open the Settings app on your laptop and go to System. 

Step 2:

You’ll see an option that reads Recovery- click on it.

Step 3:

Now, tap on Reset this PC and then click on the Reset PC button beside it.

Step 4:

Next, you will see a “Reset this PC” window on the screen where you have to choose from - Keep My Files or Remove Everything. 

Step 5:

Once you select the reset option, a new “How Would You Like to Reinstall Windows?” will appear on your screen where you have to choose between two options- Cloud Download or Local Reinstall. 

Step 6:

Confirm your selected reset options and click on Reset. Your laptop will reboot to start the System reset.
