Samsung Galaxy M12 goes official: 5 things to know

Samsung on Thursday announced the launch of the Galaxy M12 in India. The new smartphone comes with features like a 90Hz screen, 48-megapixel camera, and 6000mAh battery. Here are the top things to know about the latest Galaxy M phone in India.

Price, availability, offers

Samsung Galaxy M12 is priced at ₹10,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model. The top-end model with 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage is priced at ₹13,499. The smartphone will go on sale starting March 18 via Samsung.com, Amazon India, and select retail stores.

Samsung is also bundling a limited period introductory offer. Customers purchasing the phone through ICICI Bank credit cards will receive up to ₹1,000 cashback on both EMI and non-EMI transactions. On EMI transactions through the ICICI Bank debit card, customers will get up to ₹1,000 cashback.

Display

Samsung Galaxy M12 comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display, 90Hz refresh rate and 20:9 aspect ratio.

Camera

For photography, Samsung Galaxy M12 has a quad-camera setup on the back. The configuration consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor (ISOCELL GM2), 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens with 123-degree field of view, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The phone houses an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy M12 runs on the Exynos 850 octa-core processor clocked at 2.0Hz. It comes with up to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of built-in storage. It is powered by a 6,000mAh battery. The phone also comes with a 15W charger out-of-the-box. Samsung says the adaptive fast charging technology gets the battery back to 100% in “very less time.”

Software, other top features

The new Galaxy M also runs on Android 11-based One UI 3.1 out-of-the-box. Galaxy M12 comes with support for Samsung’s premium services that include Samsung Health, Samsung Theme, Galaxy Apps and Smart Switch. The phone also has a special Night Mode for a more comfortable viewing experience at nighttime.

There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the phone. Samsung Galaxy M12 will be available in three colour options – black, blue, and white.
