Apple announces October 13 event, likely to launch iPhone 12 series

Apple on Tuesday announced that it will be hosting a special event on October 13 where the company is expected to launch its next-generation iPhone 12 series smartphones. The event will begin at 10AM PDT (10:30PM IST) and it will be live-streamed on apple.com.

Apple usually hosts all its events at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. However, this year the company will be hosting the event virtually owing to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Coming to the invite, Apple hasn’t divulged any details as to what we should expect from its upcoming event. However, the company’s invite says “Hi, Speed”. This indicates that the company’s upcoming iPhone lineup will come with 5G connectivity.

Coming to the iPhone 12 lineup, reports suggest that Apple's iPhone 12 series will comprise of four iPhone models. The lineup is expected to include the 6.1-inch iPhone 12, the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. 

Some reports suggest that the iPhone 12 series will include five iPhone models with one of the five being the entry-level model. This entry-level model as per the report by by German blog WinFuture will be available in Black, White, Blue, Red, Yellow and Coral colour variants. In terms of the storage space, it will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage variants.
