As per reports, Apple seems to be a step closer to make iPhone 12 a reality. The firm has supposedly tapped on to TSMC’s shoulder for manufacturing its A14 Bionic processor and the production is expected to begin from later this month. This is also said to be the first Apple chipset made using the 5nm process, which should theoretically make it more powerful and efficient. And since both Apple and Qualcomm are in a partnership, the A14 Bionic, as per the reports, is expected to use the latter’s X60 modem, which means it will get the support for 5G connectivity as well.

However, Apple’s A14 chipset going into production later this month means the iPhone 12 might be delayed by a few weeks. It has been mentioned that Apple’s A13 processor last year went into production in May. Few reports have also stated that iPhone 12 production will begin from July.

It has been pointed out several times in the past that Apple is expected to launch four iPhones later this year. The handsets that will be included in the mix could be the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro Max. While the iPhone 12 will feature a 5.8-inch screen, the iPhone 12 Pro Max is supposed to feature a 6.7-inch display. Both the iPhone 12 Max and 12 Pro are expected to feature a 6.1-inch panel. However, only the ‘Pro’ models are said to come with 120Hz refresh rate.

Design-wise, all the iPhones 12 models are expected to have a flat side bezel, something similar to what was seen with iPhone SE or iPhone 5. There could be a change in the camera department as well. The new iPhones could have three rear cameras and a LiDAR sensor for better sense of depth. This will result in better portrait shots and AR app implementation.
