Amidst all the rumors and speculations about the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14, tipster Jon Prosser has revealed some new information about the accessories that will be coming soon from Apple. According to what Prosser said on his latest Genius Bar podcast, the iPhone maker is reportedly working on a magnetic magsafe-compatible battery pack for the iPhone 12 devices.
He stated that the company is working on two versions of this battery back. While the first one might be a standard version, the second variant may support a reverse charging feature. However, he added that according to his source, it is not for sure if both the variants will be launched or just one.

Although Prosser didn't go into the details of what reverse charging on the battery pack could mean, it is being speculated that it might have the ability to charge other accessories such as AirPods.
In the podcast, Prosser doubles down on this claim that was first revealed by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. In the report, Gurman spoke that Apple has been developing this device for over a year. And there are some prototypes under testing as well with white rubber exterior. It was further mentioned that this new accessory might just be a battery add-on and not serve as a full productive case, like what we have seen in the case of older iPhones.
A MagSafe battery pack is good news, particularly for the iPhone 12 mini. The smallest iPhone yet has a rather dismal battery life given its size. This indirectly may also boost Apple’s intention to launch iPhone 13 Mini, despite 12 Mini witnessing weak sales ever since launch.
