Galaxy S22 Ultra? Nah, Samsung could bring back the “Note”

What's in a name, the say? For Samsung fans, it means “note”ably a lot. Samsung has stayed mum on the Note line's future but it seems coming February, we could see Samsung bring back the Note. But not in the ol fashion. Samsung's rumoured Galaxy S22 Ultra for 2022 is going to be called the Galaxy S22 Note, suggests a new leak.

FrontTron, who has been a reliable tipster on Samsung products, now suggests that Samsung will end up calling the rumoured Galaxy S22 Ultra the Galaxy S22 Note. What happens to the Ultra? There's no idea so far. This does not seem surprising though, as the successor to the Galaxy S21 Ultra is rumored to look and feel like a Note, complete with its S Pen silo and its squared off edge.

Galaxy S22 Note will be your Note

Samsung has tried to build a Galaxy Note alternative with the Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 3 this year. Both these phones inherit the Galaxy Note's characteristics but the S Pen experience wasn't as integrated on these devices as the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, which is currently the latest Note device.

In either of these devices, the S Pen came as an afterthought; an accessory that you need to spend on separately and had to be tucked away separately too.

The leaked renders of the Galaxy S22 Ultra/Note have suggested that Samsung is heading back to the Note formula. This one is expected to have the S Pen silo within, like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

In Samsung's Galaxy S lineup, it could also make sense. Samsung ahs wanted the Ultra variant to be the ultimate model in the lineup over the last two years. Giving the S Pen to the Ultra will make it Samsung's ultimate weapon against the Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max, which is Apple's idea of the biggest and baddest iPhone you can buy.

Will we see more affordable “Lite” versions of the Galaxy S22 Note later? We will have to wait and see. Note that (pun intended) this is just a rumour and hence, you should have this with a pinch of salt.
