On Tuesday, smartphone maker Vivo held its first ever Technology Day 2022 event in India and showcased its first foldable smartphone- the Vivo X Fold. I spent around an hour with the Vivo X Fold and can say that now, Samsung needs to worry a bit as it is going to get some really tough competition. Though the company has not yet revealed the launch date of the phone in India, it can be said that the phone has features to challenge leading foldable smartphone making companies like Samsung.
On comparing Vivo X Fold with the recently launched Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, I observed that the display or the screen of Vivo X Fold is wider compared to Galaxy Z Fold 4. Also, users of the foldable phones must have noticed the crease which is formed in the middle of the screen as it is unfolded. Vivo X Fold comes with a unibody structure of the hinge that supports the display of the phone when unfolded, reducing the crease. With so much already said, here are some more of the interesting details you need to know about the Vivo X Fold:
Vivo X Fold Design: The first foldable smartphone by Vivo looks similar to Vivo X80 and comes with a leather back design which will not attract any smudges, dust or finger impressions. The back of the phone holds a quad-camera set up. The phone looks stylish and premium.
Vivo X Fold Display: As already said the usable display size of the Vivo Fold is wider compared to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4. Once unfolded, the phone also solves the issue of crease with the help of its Aerospace-Grade Hinge. Vivo X Fold also comes with 3D Ultrasonic Dual-Screen Fingerprint scanning with the help of which users will be able to use fingerprint unlocking on both displays with a single register. According to Vivo, even if you unfold the Vivo X Fold for about 80 times a day, the screen will last for up to 10 years.
Vivo X Fold Camera: The phone comes with a quad camera setup on back along with a selfie camera in front. The camera performance of the phone seems commendable.
Vivo X Fold Price: The phone in China, comes with a starting price tag of CNY 8,999 (around Rs. 102883), however, at what price the phone will be launched in India is not yet known. It can be known that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 comes at a starting price of Rs. 154999.
