Lenovo Legion 2 Pro’s unusual selfie camera, dual fan tech teased ahead of launch

Lenovo has dropped some more teasers on its Legion 2 and Legion 2 Pro gaming smartphones, which are supposed to launch in China on April 8. This time, the firm has showcased its front-facing camera position, which is ‘unusual’ to say the least. The teaser shows us that the front facing camera will have a pop-up mechanism and will be placed on the side instead at the top like any other handset. This means it will face you correctly when you are holding it in a landscape orientation.

What’s even more interesting is that the front facing camera will have a 44-megapixel sensor, which is speculated to use 4-is-ti-1 pixel binning to give you an 11-megapixel selfie image. Lenovo has also shared some camera samples on its Weibo account (via GSMArena) as well.

Also mentioned is that the main camera in Legion 2 Pro will feature OmniVision's1/1.32-inch OV64A sensor with 64-megapixel resolution, which will give a 16-megapixel final shot. It is said to capture 4K videos at 120fps and 8K videos at 30fps.

In addition, Lenovo has shared the teaser showing the Legion 2 Pro's dual-fan cooling system. The gaming handset is expected to feature twin-turbo fans to keep the machine cool and efficient. There will also be a liquid cooling chamber between the fans.

Lenovo has already confirmed some features of its upcoming gaming smartphone via teasers.It will feature a 6.92-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with a 2460 x 1080 pixels resolution. Lenovo Legion 2 Pro will also come with up to 144Hz refresh rate. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 is also confirmed for the device.

According to a certification listing, the device is also said to boast of 110W fast charging tech.
